NightPin

If a night is missing

1. Open Settings on the iPhone, select Apps, select NightPin, then Location, and confirm that Always is selected.

2. Confirm that Location Services are enabled under Privacy and Security.

3. If the iPhone was restarted, unlock it once so NightPin can access its protected local journal.

4. Avoid force-quitting NightPin. iOS may prevent a force-quit location app from relaunching in the background until you open it again.

5. Open NightPin once. A pending overnight position can be finalized when the app becomes active.

6. If Airplane Mode was enabled, NightPin can use a qualifying location already stored before 2:00 am. It cannot create an accurate night if no usable sample was available during the preceding 18 hours.

7. If necessary, use Add to enter the missed night manually.

Tap Add to search for a place, use the current position or select a point on the map. Choose a date and one of the categories Home, Hotel, Partner, Friends, Camping, Family or Other. NightPin permits only one record for each calendar date.

To change an existing record, open Timeline and tap Edit. You can update its date, location or category, or delete it.

Open More and choose Export CSV for a data file or World map PDF for a printable map with statistics. Select the destination in the iOS file exporter.

NightPin Location Journal is designed to keep your overnight history private and on your iPhone.

NightPin uses iOS Location Services to remember the latest qualifying position and create an overnight record from the last position registered at or before 2:00 am. A record may contain coordinates, date and time, category, city, country and information needed to organize the journal.

Your NightPin journal and latest location sample are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. The developer does not receive, view or retain this information. NightPin has no user account, advertising, analytics, cloud sync or private server. NightPin does not track you across apps or websites.

NightPin uses Apple Maps and Apple's system location, map, search and geocoding services to show maps, find places and obtain city and country names. Apple provides these services under its own privacy terms. The NightPin developer does not receive or retain the information handled by Apple for those service requests.

NightPin creates a CSV file or world map PDF only when you choose an export action. You select where the exported file is saved or shared. Once a file leaves NightPin's private app storage, the privacy and retention rules of the selected destination apply.

Records remain on your iPhone until you delete them in Timeline or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its locally stored NightPin journal. NightPin has no server copy that can restore deleted information.

Automatic overnight capture requires Always Location access. You can change or withdraw location access at any time in iPhone Settings. Automatic capture stops when the required access is unavailable. You can still add records manually.

NightPin is a general-audience journal and is not directed specifically to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other user.

This policy may be updated if NightPin's features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
